Gaming Couch promotional art created for the Gamescom 2025 booth

Gaming Couch spent this summer going from an invite-only pitch selection to an actual booth on the Gamescom show floor, and it's worth telling the whole story in one place.

Getting the Invest Circle Nod

Gamescom runs an invite-only Invest Circle track alongside the main event, and we were selected to take part. Getting picked for something like that is a genuinely nice milestone on its own, since it means people outside our usual community are starting to pay attention. We said it at the time and it's still true: the support, bug reports, and occasionally brutally honest feedback from our players is what got the platform to a place where it was worth showing off in that room.

Setting Up at the Booth

From there, the plan turned into an actual booth. Thanks to W Love Games, a Finnish organization that helped provide the space, we had a spot in Hall 10.2, Stand F05g, for two days: Thursday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and Friday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

We used the booth to show off our newly redesigned Abstract mini-game series, alongside the rest of the catalog. Gamescom draws an enormous, varied crowd, and a booth full of strangers is a genuinely useful test of whether a game explains itself. Watching people who'd never touched Gaming Couch scan a code and start playing within seconds, no instructions needed beyond "your phone is the controller," is exactly the kind of signal we look for.

Bringing It Home

We put together a short recap covering the trip: the booth setup, the games we brought, and a few of the moments from the floor. It's the kind of event that's more fun to relive after the fact than it feels in the middle of a long trade show day, and this one delivered plenty of good moments.

None of this happens without the community that got us into the room in the first place. If you want to try the exact games we brought to the booth, browse the full catalog and see what caught people's attention on the show floor.
